Alex Singletary has always had music in his life. Growing up in Tallahassee, FL.,Mr. Singletary was not only involved in his high school band program but the Youth Orchestra, pit orchestrasfor local musicals,and private lesson. Mr. Singletary earned his Batchelor’s in Instrumental Music Education from Florida State University. At Florida State Mr. Singletary was a member of the world-renowned Marching Chiefs, Wind Orchestraand Pi Kappa Lambda, a musical society that recognizes and encourages the highest level of musical achievement and academic scholarship. An avid trombone player, Mr. Singletary has performed with concert bands, orchestras, and jazz bands.Including performances alongside jazz great Scotty Barnhart. He is always looking to better himself through Trombone performance and teaching. Mr. Singletary’s first year at Gulf Breeze High School was the 2022 –2023 school year. Before starting atGBHS, Mr. Singletary taught at Auburndale High School where his ensembles earned the highest possible ratings at their respective performances and adjudications. Mr. Singletary often says that “Band is the ultimate team sport.” He believes that everyone, students, parents, and teachers alike havea crucial role to play increating an outstanding program. Mr. Singletary is always looking to work hard and have fun by performing at the highest level!
