Solo & Ensemble and MPA
Concert MPA/Practicing
The concert MPA performance will be March 4, 2021 at 6:00 in the gym at Gulf Breeze High School. Concert band and symphonic band students need to wear their Soundwave band shirt, plain black pants (no jeans, no holes, no color/bleach patterns/etc.) and closed-toe shoes (no athletic shoes, please). Parents are invited to attend this concert, but the event will still need to be at 50% capacity in the gym. A more detailed itinerary will be sent prior to the performance.
Solo & Ensemble
Congratulations to the following students for earning a Superior and moving onto the next round of State Solo & Ensemble! While this was a very different year for S&E, these students took on the challenge of performing virtually and definitely earned their rating this year!
-
Jackson Holmer - Trumpet Solo
-
Olivia Hoffman - Flute Solo
-
Sam Fulton - Trombone Solo
-
Ian Gonzales - Clarinet Solo
-
Amelia Atchison - Flute Solo
-
Everett Salter, Sam Fulton, & Jackson Holmer - Brass Trio
To allow for safety in the current times, Solo & Ensemble will be held virtually. Again, for safety in the current times, students will not be required to perform at Solo & Ensemble this year. However, students are still required to prepare a solo & ensemble piece to be performed as a band requirement. If you are interested in participating for a rating & the ability to go to State S&E, please let Ms. Donahoo know ASAP to officially sign up.
Students interested in performing within FBA Solo & Ensemble will need to be familiar with the changes below, per the Florida Bandmasters Association.
