2019/20 New Member Information

Welcome new and returning members!  Please review the links and information below carefully.  We are very proud to have you as part of the Gulf Breeze High School Soundwave Band and are looking forward to a great school year.  This band thrives on student and parent support - thank you for playing a part!

Forms & Information Checklist:

 

  • Required Parent/Guardian and Student Information Form

    • This form will take 10-15 min with Health Insurance Info and will need to be done before student can participate this summer. Must be done for each student individually. 
       

  • Community School Form

    • Will be available in the band room on the first day of Band Camp 

    • Must be completed by all students attending camps

 

 

  • Uniform Information and Needs

    • If you have not been fitted (or re-fitted for veteran members) for a marching band uniform, you will need to do so on ​Monday, July 15th.

    • Please be sure to pay for all uniform components. Students will not receive items until they have paid for the components.

    • The Summer Uniform is to be worn at all performances until we wear the marching band uniform in full. 

    • Please be sure to have all uniform components for each performance. ​Students not in proper uniform will not be allowed to perform.​ If you are having difficulty obtaining any items, please inform Ms. Donahoo.
       

    • Winds and Percussion

      • Band Shirt (Provided)

      • Khaki Shorts

      • Brown Belt

      • Socks

      • Athletic Shoes

      • Hair off collar

      • No Makeup/Jewelry
         

    • Color Guard

      • Same as winds and percussion with the exception of hair, makeup & accessories designated by staff. ​

 

  • CHARMS

    • The Sound Wave Band uses CHARMS to manage student contact information, calendar, volunteers and student finances. Parents can verify and update their information, view the band calendar, sign up to volunteer and check their child's band MFSC account balance at any time.  Use code: gulfbrhsband.

      The first time you log on, you will use your child's student #ID.  You will be prompted to create your own password.  If you forget your password, there is a link to reset it. 
       

    • To make MFSC/uniform/misc  payments through CHARMS you must have a PayPal account.  
       

    1. Sign into CHARMS  at www.charmsoffice.com using school code: gulfbrhsband

    2. Enter your login information and then click on the $ at the top or on the Finances link

    3. Click on the blue "Make Miscellaneous Payment" link.  Enter $ amount and description (i.e. band shoes, color guard gloves, MFSC, etc.)   You will then be asked to sign into PayPal to complete the transaction.

 

  • MySchoolBucks

    • Parents with students or anyone wanting to contribute to a student's MFS or Band Expenses can create an account and make payments, orders, and donations through the site or app. Here is the website for additional information: 

    • If you have a student in the band, we encourage that you sign up for an account and add your student by using the 57xxxxxxxx student ID or searching for your child using the form. If you pay for meals through the school, then you are already set up. Use the menu selections on the left side of the screen, once you are logged in, and select Gulf Breeze HS and below that select Band. This will bring up all the items that can be paid for through MySchoolBucks. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the directors for additional information or help. 

 

  • Volunteer Level 2 Clearance Form

    • Any parent wanting to be a Level 2 clearance volunteer will need to fill out the form attached. In the event that the band has an overnight trip, we will need to have chaperones cleared on this level. Completed forms should be emailed to wattsj@santarosa.k12.fl.us or turned into the front office.

 

  • SRC Off-Campus Field trip form

    • ​​Must be completed by all students before traveling with the band to any event.

    • These will be handed out during camp and will need to be returned before the first off-campus event.

 

  • Absence Request Form

    • This form will need to be printed and turned in to Ms. Donahoo as the need arises

The SoundWave band is for students only. SoundWave Parents band is for parents only. Events will be added as they are determined. We strive to get updates posted as soon as possible.
